The area is also famous for Cherry trees which blossoms in November. The Cherry blossom festival is held at Temi during early November.
The old monastery was established in 1768 AD and the new monastery, Palchen Choeling Monastic Institute, was built in 1995. The main feature of this monastery is the masked dance of Kagyed Chaam, which is performed every year as a ritual of worshipping Mt.Khanchenjung.
This Unique Pilgrim Cenrer having a 108 ft statue of Lord Shiva and replicas of four sacred Dhaams of the country Badrinatth, Dwarka, Puri, and Rameswaram at one place at Solophok hilltop. Surrounding the statue of Lord Shiva and the Char Dhams, It is considered highly sacred by tourist to visit this sacred pilgrim center.
Also known as Guru Rinpocheis on the Samdruptse hill. Sits atop a giant lotus plinth , painted in shimmering copper, pink and bronze, the 45m-high statue of Guru Padmasambhava lords over the forested Samdruptse ridge is visible for miles around.
The most revered monastery (Gompa) is a Buddhist monastery, located on top of the hill rising between the Rathong chu and the Rangeet River. It is said that the three monks saw an unusual divine phenomenon of bright light shining on top of the Kanchenjunga peak, which reflected to a site near the place where the present Tashiding Monastery has been built.
Titanic View Point is about 12 kms from our Hotel. This place came up in the tourist map very recently. Shaped like the tip of a ship, this place offers a panoramic view of the deep river valley and the mountains ranges stretching to the horizon. The road to this viewpoint is also very scenic.
Against a backdrop of a magnificent view of the mountains, Kewzing is a typical quiet Bhutia village, located 8 kms from Ravangla in South Sikkim. The Bonn Monastery is another religious attraction of Ravangla, situated in the Kewzing Village, 5 km from the town. This monastery was established in the late 1980s as a symbol of the determination of the community of Kewzing, in preserving their traditions.
